Taoussi lauds Azam’s balanced attack

DAR ES SALAAM: AZAM Coach Rachid Taoussi lauded his team for their improved scoring accuracy following their 1-0 victory against Young Africans on Saturday at Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam.

During the post-match interview, Taoussi highlighted that the team’s playing style provides all players with equal opportunities to score, which contributed to their success in the match.

“The game was difficult; we faced a good team with experienced players. We recognised their strength and developed a plan.

We needed to balance our play in defence, midfield and attack. Our players executed the plan well and managed the game effectively. “I am impressed with my team, especially knowing that each player has the potential to score.

Today, Gibril Sillah scored and he also found the net in the previous game, which is impressive.”

On the other hand, Young Africans’ coach Miguel Gamondi acknowledged the defeat, noting that losing is part of football.

“Nobody likes to lose, but we must accept that defeat is a part of the game,” he said.

Despite the setback, Gamondi expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance, highlighting that they created more scoring opportunities than their opponents.

He pointed out that Young Africans were particularly strong in both halves, even when reduced to ten players. “We dominated the game and were effective in pressing,” he stated.

“We created two clear chances that could have led to goals, especially the last attempt from Kibabage, which was unfortunate.
