Taifa Stars in tricky clash against Sudan in Dar

DAR ES SALAAM: TAIFA Stars Coach Bakari Shime is optimistic that his team will defeat Sudan in the return leg of their African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifying match at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam today.

After a narrow 1-0 defeat in the first leg, Shime believes his squad is primed for redemption on home turf. Upon returning from a hard training camp in Senegal, Shime stressed the importance of turning lessons learnt into a winning strategy.

“We have worked diligently to address our previous mistakes. It’s our turn to seek revenge and we are ready to deliver for our supporters,” he declared. The match promises to be a spectacle, especially with free entry for fans.

Shime highlighted that the passionate support from the stands could be the gamechanger. “The fans hold the power to inspire us; we hope they will come out in full force to cheer us on,” he urged.

On his part, Simba’s player and national team goalkeeper, Aishi Manula echoed his coach’s sentiments, expressing the squad’s readiness to entertain Tanzanian fans. “We are ready to face them as a team, ensuring we put on a great show,” Manula stated.

He underscored the significance of securing a win on home ground that would not only boost team morale but also set a positive tone for future international encounters.
