NSSF bags prestigious awards for social security, insurance excellence

GEITA: THE National Social Security Fund (NSSF) has won the award for Management and Coordination of Social Security for the Private Sector during the climax of the 7th National Mining Technology Exhibition held at the EPZ in Geita Region.

The award was presented by President Samia Suluhu Hassan and received by the NSSF Director General, Mr Masha Mshomba, during the closing of the exhibition.

Moreover, NSSF won the first-place award in the category of Social Security and Insurance Services, presented on October 12, 2024, by the Minister of Minerals, Anthony Mavunde, during the exhibition.

Speaking after receiving the award, Mr Mshomba said that digital service delivery has been a key tool in ensuring NSSF services reach members wherever they are, including opening claims for various benefits.

Mr Mshomba urged private sector employers to ensure they register their employees with NSSF and submit contributions on time, as this is a legal requirement and enables the Fund to grow and provide better services.

Furthermore, Mr Mshomba encouraged self-employed individuals in the informal sector, including small-scale miners, food vendors, motorbike taxi operators, fishermen, farmers, livestock keepers and various entrepreneurs to join and contribute to NSSF, as this is the right way to reduce income poverty and protect themselves from various risks.

Director of Operations, Mr Omary Mziya said the fund will continue to provide excellent services to members through IT systems, allowing members to submit their claims digitally without the need to visit NSSF offices.
