CCM commits to internal reforms to achieve goals

RUVUMA: The ruling party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), has committed to undertaking significant internal reforms to bolster its capacity to lead the country and achieve its developmental goals.
Speaking at a gathering of the party’s Women’s Wing (UWT) in Ruvuma on Saturday, CCM’s National Chairperson, President Samia Suluhu Hassan, emphasized the importance of change within any institution that seeks growth.
“To grow, an institution must embrace change,” the President noted, underscoring that the party has taken steps to strengthen itself by collaborating with foreign partners, including China and India where party members have been sent abroad to learn and implement new strategies upon their return.
“The changes you see within CCM are a direct result of our leaders learning from others abroad. This is part of our ongoing effort to strengthen the party because, at present, there is no better alternative to lead Tanzania. We must continue to solidify our position,” President Hassan stated.

The President also called on stakeholders to support and drive these reforms to further fortify the party’s structure.
However, as the country gears up for the 2025 General Election, President Hassan urged party members to maintain unity. She stressed the importance of working together to ensure a decisive victory while avoiding divisions during the election process.
“Our goal is to win, but we must not let the elections fracture our unity. We need to support candidates who are capable and committed to the party’s mission, rather than personal ambition,” she said.
