Simba part ways with Mgunda

DAR ES SALAAM: SIMBA SC announced a change in their Simba Queens coaching staff, as Musa Mgosi steps in as the new head coach following the departure of Juma Mgunda.

Mgunda’s contract with the team has expired, leading to this transition.

In a statement from the club, CEO Uwawezu Regis expressed gratitude to Mgunda for his contributions to both the Simba senior men’s team and Simba Queens.

Regis highlighted Mgunda’s successful tenure, noting that under his leadership, Simba Queens secured the Tanzania Women’s Premier League (TWPL) title.

Mgunda’s final match in charge of Simba Queens was a 2-0 defeat to Kawempe Muslim Ladies in the third-place play-off of the CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA Zone qualifiers.

Despite a strong performance in the group stages, where Simba Queens finished top of Group B with 7 points from three matches, Mgunda’s side fell short in the semi-finals, losing 3-2 to Kenya Police Bullets.
