Yanga paint Dar green, yellow

DAR ES SALAAM: BENJAMIN Mkapa Stadium radiated with the vibrant hues of green and yellow, not from paint but from the sea of Young Africans fans who transformed the venue into a spectacle of club pride and celebration.

The occasion marked the annual ‘Mwananchi Day,’ a cherished tradition that signifies the deep bond between the club and its loyal supporters, ushering in a promising new season with flair and festivity.

The stadium boasted a full house of 60,000 fans, eagerly packed to the rafters with anticipation and excitement.

The atmosphere was electric as supporters from all corners of Tanzania converged to pay homage to their beloved club.

Adding to the grandeur of the day was the esteemed presence of Vice-President Philip Mpango, whose arrival elicited thunderous cheers and chants of “Wananchi…” from the ecstatic crowd. With a smile, Mpango reciprocated the fans’ enthusiasm, acknowledging their unwavering support and dedication.

In a heart-warming gesture, Vice-President Mpango connected the fans directly with President Samia Suluhu Hassan via phone, as she extended her warm greetings from her work visit in Ifakara.

The festivities continued with a dazzling array of entertainment, featuring stellar performances by renowned artists such as Harmonize, Rayvanny, and Marioo. Amidst the music and fanfare, Young Africans’ communication officer Haji Manara proudly introduced the club’s players, who were greeted with uproarious applause and adulation from the adoring crowd.
