GGML sponsors 5th national mining tech

GEITA Gold Mining Limited (GGM) for the five years consecutively has been the main sponsor of the National Mining Technology exhibition which this year is being held at the Investment Zone (EPZ) Bombambili in Geita region.

This year, GGML has been the main sponsor again in the exhibition used to show the technologies in the mining sector as well as facilitating business clinics for entrepreneurs and companies with needs and opportunities available in the GGML mine.

The exhibition, which be- gan on the 27th of September and conclude on October 8th this year, will provide a great opportunity for participants to learn various modern technologies in mining.

The GGML Company joins 600 companies participating in the exhibitions which showcase modern systems and technologies to stakeholders, especially small miners.

Speaking on the sponsorship of GGML, the Vice President of the Anglo Gold Ashanti Company – GGML dealing with sustainable projects in Ghana and Tanzania, Simon Shayo said that the company is relieved to be the main sponsor of the exhibition.

He said that the min- ing technology exhibition which started five years ago is a good idea that the Geita regional administration and other stakeholders came up with.

“We are relieved that we were involved as one of the biggest sponsors from the beginning but we also realize that other stakeholders who are not even in the mining sector such as banks and other stakeholders saw the importance of participating not only to sponsor but also to bring their products to these exhibitions and show them.

“Our call to all stakeholders, even those out of the mining sector to join the Geita regional government and we as GGML will continue to be there at all times to ensure that these exhibitions become large, productive and international,” said Mr Shayo.

In addition, speaking about the sponsorship of GGML, the Deputy Secretary General to the Mines, Msafiri Mbibo, said that GGML is doing well not only in the way they show their willingness to sponsor but has enabled the exhibitions to grow year after year.

“GGML empowers us to build capacity for more participants where not only GGML but also other people participate for the benefit of the whole country and all people,” he said.
