Dar, Mbeya venues light up 4th round 

 HOLDERS Young Africans are keen to get back to winning ways as they face Mtibwa Sugar in the fourth round of the NBC Premier League at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam today.

It is a battle of the second-placed Mtibwa Sugar against third slot occupants Yanga though are lately separated by a goal difference but both have attained seven points from three fixtures.

With maximum three points on standby, the game is likely to be tense as whenever they meet, one expects to witness a competitive game worth watching.

At a pre-match briefing on Monday, Yanga Head Coach Nasreddine Nabi said they are well prepared to face Mtibwa Sugar even though he is aware that the game is going to be tough.

“Mtibwa Sugar is a good team and they keep on improving daily that is why they are now sitting on second place in the league and we have to respect them throughout the match,” Nabi said.

On his part, Mtibwa Sugar Assistant Coach Awadh Juma said basing on the level of preparation they have had, they are 100 per cent ready to face Yanga.

“We know that they are a big team and have not lost a game so far in the league just like us, hence a team that approaches the game with a positive mentality will win,” he said.

However, in an early game today, Mbeya City host Azam at Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya which is also a sparkling fixture basing on the fact that Azam usually find it hard to win at the venue.

It is going to be the first domestic league match for the new Azam Head Coach Denis Lavagne who watched from stands his charges played during the Dar es Salaam Derby.

The Frenchman has inked a one-year deal to sharpen the Chamazi giants who were among the few teams that did well during the international transfer market.

As it stands, Azam are sixth on the table with five points whereas Mbeya City are seventh with four points.

Tomorrow, the league action continues as Tanzania Prisons welcome Simba at Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya for yet another mouth-watering match likely to attract attention from many people.

The Msimbazi Street Reds are approaching the game after 2-2 draw with KMC in their previous match and it is their first duel outside Dar es Salaam.

Also, Geita Gold will face new comers Singida Big Stars in yet another tense league encounter of the fourth round of the top flight league.
