Samia names Diamond to represent youths in National End Malaria Council
President Samia Suluhu Hassan has appointed singer Naseeb Abdul alias Diamond Platnumz as the youth representative in the National End Malaria Council.
Health Minister Ummy Mwalimu revealed this in Dar es Salaam on Tuesday as Tanzania joined the international community to mark World Malaria Day.
The musician’s influence on the social media platforms has been cited as the reason that led to his appointment.
So far Diamond has a total of 15.9 million followers and the Minister is optimistic that if the musician sends a message ‘NOT EVERY FEVER IS MALARIA’ a lot of people will be reached.
Meanwhile Artiste Zuwena Mohammed ‘Shilole’ and former Miss Tanzania, Faraja Kota have also been appointed as members of the council.
Faraja is also executive Director of School Direct, a Non-Government Organisation leveraging technology to improve learning outcomes for Primary and Secondary students through digital platforms.
