Parliament instructs LATRA’s systems to align with e-GA,Police

DODOMA: THE Parliamentary Standing Committee on Infrastructure has advised the Ministry of Transport, through the Land Transport Regulatory Authority (LATRA), to ensure that LATRA’s systems are interoperable with those of the e-Government Authority (eGA) and the Police Force to prevent operational challenges and disputes with stakeholders in Tanzania’s transport sector.
The recommendation was made by the Committee’s Chairperson, Selemani Kakoso, during a meeting held at Parliament in Dodoma, where LATRA presented a report on improvements to its Vehicle Tracking System (VTS).
Kakoso stressed the importance of the government addressing complaints raised by transport sector stakeholders and finding solutions to the challenges that arise.
