CONSTANTINE: TANZANIA has been honoured to the Guest of Honour at the Bati-Est Expo 2026 International Exhibition for Construction, Housing and Infrastructure Projects, taking place in Constantine, Algeria.

Tanzania’s Ambassador to Algeria, Mobhare Matinyi, represented the country at the ninth edition of the exhibition, which commenced on October 14, 2026, and runs for three days. Ambassador Matinyi attended the official opening ceremony alongside Constantine Governor Kerbouch Kamel.

Speaking to the Algerian Press Service (APS), Ambassador Matinyi invited Algerian investors and businesspeople in the construction sector to invest in Tanzania, highlighting the strong cooperation between the two countries and the wide range of investment opportunities available in Tanzania.

He noted that the construction sector contributes approximately 13 percent of Tanzania’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and records average annual growth of around 10 per cent. He emphasised that Tanzania provides a favourable environment for investors and businesses seeking to capitalise on opportunities in the sector.

Ambassador Matinyi further explained that Tanzania is implementing various construction projects and occupies a strategic geographical position connecting East, Central and Southern Africa. He added that the country’s membership in the East African Community (EAC) and the Southern African Development Community (SADC) makes it an important trade hub in the region.
