CCM strengthens grassroots network
UNGUJA: CHAMA Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) has trained 840 cadres from 32 regions and 168 party districts in a nationwide programme aimed at strengthening party education and grassroots structures.
The programme involved interviewing 1,522 cadres across the country, from whom 840 were selected and trained to become cadre trainers responsible for providing party education at different levels.
CCM Vice ChairmanZanzibar and President of Zanzibar, Dr Hussein Ali Mwinyi, said the trained cadres would help ensure party members received accurate and consistent education on the organisation’s history, ideology, principles and values.
Dr Mwinyi made the remarks yesterday, while closing the second phase of the Cadre Trainers’ Training held at Tunguu in the South Region of Unguja.
He said the programme would strengthen the party’s grassroots structures by equipping trainers with knowledge and skills required to educate members effectively.
Dr Mwinyi urged the trainers to provide uniform education on CCM’s history, organisational structure, principles, ideology and values, while helping members understand the appropriate use of digital technology in party activities.
He also called on the cadres to strengthen party branches and grassroots cells, saying the structures provide an important link between party members, the organisation and communities.
Dr Mwinyi encouraged the newly trained cadres to contribute to party activities by registering new members and encouraging existing members to fulfil their responsibilities.

The two phases brought the total number of cadres trained under the programme to 840.
Dr Mwinyi said the grassroots structures were important in receiving concerns raised by party members and communities and ensuring that party activities remained connected to members at the local level.
He also urged the trainers to ensure that information provided to party members was accurate and consistent, particularly on the party’s history, ideology and values.
CCM Deputy SecretaryGeneral-Zanzibar, Mr Abdi Mahmoud Abdi, said the training had equipped cadres with knowledge and skills that would enable them to perform their responsibilities more effectively at different levels of the party.

The training programme forms part of CCM’s efforts to build the capacity of its cadres and improve the delivery of party education at grassroots level.
