Dr Samia elevates Kadogosa, as Dr Homera replaces Ndejembi as new Energy Minister

DODOMA: PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has appointed Dr Juma Homera as the Minister for Energy replacing Deogratius Ndejembi who is now the Vice President.

Before the today, September 27, 2026, appointment, Dr Homera previously headed the Ministry of Constitutional and Legal Affairs.

President Samia also appointed the former Tanzania Railways Corporation (TRC) Director General, Masanja Kadogosa as the new Minister for Works.

According to a statement issued by the Director of Presidential Communications, in Dodoma today, Kadogosa takes over the Works docket from Abdallah Hamis Ulega, who has been appointed as the new Minister for Constitutional and Legal Affairs.

Mr Ulega’s appointment follows the appointment of Dr Juma Homera, who previously headed the Ministry of Constitutional and Legal Affairs, as the now Minister for Energy.

Additionally, the Head of State also appointed Asha Khamis Abdula as the Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance responsible for Financial Management, while Prof Bruno Sungura became Chief Medical Officer of the government.

Other appointees are, Jabir Omari Makame who was named the new Executive Secretary of the National Economic Empowerment Council (NEEC), while Dr Idrisa Muslim Hija has been appointed Chairperson of the Tanzania National Commission for UNESCO.
