Tanzania exports goods worth 22m US dollars to Saudi Arabia as their bilateral trade ties hit new heights 

DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA has exported goods worth approximately 22m US dollars to Saudi Arabia, driven by growing trade cooperation between the two countries.

The information was disclosed by the Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade, Dennis Londo, during a ceremony held to commemorate the 96th National Day of Saudi Arabia, where he was the guest of honour. The event was attended by ambassadors and representatives of various international companies.

Londo said Tanzania and Saudi Arabia continue to strengthen their longstanding relations and cooperation across various sectors, including trade, education and investment.

He said bilateral relations have continued to grow, with the scope of trade expanding while more Tanzanians are gaining opportunities to pursue scholarships in Saudi Arabia.

According to Londo, Tanzania imports petroleum products, petrochemicals and fertilisers from Saudi Arabia, while Saudi Arabia imports meat and agricultural products from Tanzania.

For his part, the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Tanzania, Yahya bin Ahmed Okaish, congratulated President of the United Republic of Tanzania Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan for strengthening the bonds of friendship and brotherhood between Tanzania and Saudi Arabia and for creating greater opportunities for bilateral trade.
