Tanzania enhances preps for World AIDS Day alongside the 25 years of TACAIDS

DODOMA: The government has started preparations for World AIDS Day celebrations and marking 25 years since the establishment of the Tanzania Commission for AIDS (TACAIDS).

Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office (Policy, Parliament, Coordination and Persons with Disabilities), Dr Jim Yonazi, held a meeting with TACAIDS management led by Executive Director Dr Adam Mrisho to discuss preparations for the two events.

The meeting focused on strengthening coordination of activities for the celebrations while ensuring continued national efforts in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

Discussions also considered the contribution and collaboration of various stakeholders in HIV/AIDS-related interventions, which have played an important role in TACAIDS’ 25-year journey.

The preparations are expected to bring together stakeholders to reflect on progress made in the national response to HIV/AIDS and sustain efforts to address the epidemic.
