ZLS condoles President Samia on husband’s death

ZANZIBAR: THE Zanzibar Law Society (ZLS) has conveyed its condolences to Tanzania’s President, Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan, following the death of her husband, the late Maalim Hafidh Ameir Hassan.

The condolences were delivered today, September 12, at President Samia’s private residence in Kizimkazi, South Unguja Region, Zanzibar.

The ZLS delegation was led by Masoud Mohamed, President-Elect of the East African Law Society (EALS) through the Zanzibar Law Society, and Shabani Mwangoda, Director General of the Zanzibar Law Society.

Also present were ZLS Governing Council member Zena Mohamed and Salma Zeyn, Chairperson of the Committee on Women, Youth and Special Groups.

On behalf of the Zanzibar Law Society’s leadership and membership, the delegation expressed its sympathy to President Samia and her family, as well as the relatives, friends and others affected by the bereavement.

Maalim Hafidh Ameir Hassan died in Zanzibar on September 7, 2026.

The Zanzibar Law Society said it joins Tanzanians and others affected by the loss in praying for the late Hafidh Ameir Hassan.

The society also prayed for strength, comfort and patience for the bereaved family during this difficult period.

“May Almighty God grant the soul of the deceased eternal rest in Paradise and give the bereaved family patience and comfort. Amen.”
