Foundation sets aside 650m/- for Monduli health centre

ARUSHA: A NON-Governmental Organisation, Doris Mollel Foundation, has set aside 650m/- for the construction of a modern health centre at Kipok Village in Moita Ward, Monduli District, Arusha Region.

The facility, which will include a maternity waiting home, maternal, paternal and child health units, a canteen and staff houses, is scheduled for construction from this month and is expected to be completed in November this year.

The foundation’s Maternal, Paternal and Child Health Officer, Brayan Kilenzi said recently during a special meeting attended by councillors, the Council Health Management Team (CHMT) and Monduli District Council management to receive the project that the construction of the health centre is part of the foundation’s efforts to improve healthcare services, particularly maternal, child and reproductive health services.

“The project will cost 650m/- and will include the construction of a maternity waiting home, a maternal, paternal and child health building, a canteen and staff houses,” he said.

He added that in addition to the construction, the Doris Mollel Foundation is focusing on three key areas, including educating communities about premature babies, building the capacity of health professionals providing maternal, paternal and child health services and offering reproductive health education to young people.

The Chairperson of Monduli District Council, Kisioki Moitiko, who is also the councillor for Selela Ward, said the completion of the facility will enable the community to access improved healthcare services.

Monduli Member of Parliament, Isack Joseph, expressed gratitude to the Doris Mollel Foundation for investing in healthcare services for residents of Moita and Monduli District at large.

He urged councillors and project supervisors, including the Monduli District Council, to ensure that the construction adheres to required standards so that the facility delivers quality services to residents.
