Former PM lauds advanced use of technology, youth-driven creativity at Nane Nane Exhibitions

DODOMA: THE former Prime Minister Mizengo Pinda has praised the growing use of technology and youth-driven innovations in agriculture after touring the 2026 Nane Nane International Agricultural Exhibition in Dodoma.

During his visit to the Dr John Samuel Malecela Grounds the former minister toured exhibition pavilions showcasing innovations in agriculture, livestock and fisheries from local and international exhibitors.

During his tour, Mr Pinda visited the Youth Innovation and Supermarket Pavilion, where he viewed technologies developed by young innovators to address challenges facing the agriculture sector.

The innovations included artificial intelligence (AI)-powered drones for early crop disease detection, soil sensors, modern irrigation systems, solar- and biogas-powered crop dryers, and organic fertiliser produced from crop residues.

Mr Pinda also visited seed production companies, where he was briefed on advances in the development of improved seed varieties designed to boost agricultural productivity and enhance farmers’ competitiveness.

He further received updates on services offered by institutions and stakeholders supporting farmers through research, technology and market-oriented production.
