EABC, Rwanda partner to promote investment opportunities

NAIROBI: THE East African Business Council (EABC) and the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) have strengthened their partnership to promote investment and regional economic integration ahead of the inaugural East Africa CEO & Investment Forum scheduled for September in Kenya.

During a meeting in Kigali recently, EABC ViceChairperson Dennis Karera and Executive Director Ahmed Farah held talks with RDB officials on expanding collaboration in investment promotion, private sector development and regional trade.

The discussions highlighted ongoing cooperation in advocating for the East African Community (EAC) Single Tourist Visa, promoting exports in priority industrial value chains such as leather, textiles and automotive manufacturing, improving trade facilitation through One-Stop Border Posts, and advancing regional trade integration.

Mr Karera commended RDB for strengthening Rwanda’s investment climate and supporting investors, noting that closer cooperation among EAC partner states is key to attracting more investment into the region.

On his part, Mr Farah said the East Africa CEO & Investment Forum, set for September 17–18, 2026, will bring together business leaders, investors and government officials to promote investment opportunities across the region through business-tobusiness and business-to-government meetings, investment matchmaking and a dedicated Deal Room.

The RDB Chief Executive Officer, Acting Head of Marketing and Investment Ronald Kabagambe said Rwanda would use the forum to showcase its Investment Deals Book, featuring projects ready for investment.

The forum is expected to provide East African businesses, including those from Tanzania, with opportunities to forge partnerships, attract capital and deepen regional trade and investment cooperation.
