Tanzania sees new tourism investment opportunities at the 8th ATLF in SA

DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA is set to pursue new tourism investment opportunities and expand its share of the African travel market at the Eighth Africa Tourism Leadership Forum (ATLF) and Awards, scheduled for September 2 to 4 in Polokwane, Limpopo Province, South Africa.

The continental forum is expected to bring together tourism ministers, policymakers, tourism industry executives, hospitality investors and destination development experts from across Africa to discuss strategies for boosting intra-African tourism and investment.

The meeting comes as African countries seek to increase travel within the continent, with the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) creating fresh opportunities for cross-border business partnerships and tourism growth.

For Tanzania, the forum offers a strategic platform to strengthen its position as one of Africa’s leading tourist destinations while seeking new visitor markets and attracting investment into the country’s tourism and hospitality industries.

The country is also expected to showcase its globally renowned attractions, including the Serengeti National Park, Zanzibar, Mount Kilimanjaro and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, as it seeks to enhance its visibility among African travellers and investors.

Participation in the forum is also expected to enable Tanzania to establish new partnerships with tourism stakeholders, exchange best practices in destination marketing and explore investment opportunities in hospitality, transport and tourism-related infrastructure.

The Eighth ATLF is expected to feature high-level discussions on sustainable tourism development, innovation, investment and regional collaboration aimed at accelerating the growth of Africa’s tourism sector.

Among the keynote speakers will be the Regional Director for Africa at the UN Tourism, Elcia Grandcourt.

With economic integration gaining momentum across the continent, the forum is expected to provide Tanzania with an important opportunity to forge strategic partnerships, attract investment and further drive the growth of its tourism industry.
