Millya hails Nane Nane Exhibition for displaying Tanzania’s advancement in agricultural productivity

DODOMA: THE Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation responsible for East African Affairs, James Kinyasi Millya, has described the National Agricultural Exhibition (Nane Nane) as a strategic platform for promoting trade, investment and expanding markets for Tanzanian products at both regional and international levels.

Speaking after touring the exhibition at the Dr John Malecela Grounds in Dodoma, Millya said the event brings together producers, traders and development partners, creating opportunities to showcase agricultural innovations, attract investment and strengthen economic cooperation.

During the visit, the Deputy Minister was accompanied by the representative of the Nigerian Ambassador to Tanzania, Barrister Luqman Hannafi, and Manyoni District Commissioner, Dr. Vincent Mashinji. The delegation toured various exhibition pavilions, where they received briefings on modern technologies in agricultural production, processing and value addition.

Millya said the innovations on display demonstrate Tanzania’s growing potential to increase agricultural productivity and competitiveness while opening new markets for locally produced goods through regional and international partnerships.

He noted that the government’s continued participation in such exhibitions reflects its commitment to advancing economic diplomacy by leveraging the agricultural sector to boost trade, attract investment and enhance the competitiveness of Tanzanian products in the global market.

This year’s Nane Nane Exhibition is being held under the theme, “Know the Market, Increase Productivity, Implement the National Development Vision 2050,” which emphasizes productivity, value addition and market expansion as key drivers of sustainable national development.
