Minister Kapinga applauds Kilombero Sugar’s expansion drive at Nane Nane Exhibition

MOROGORO: MINISTER for Industry and Trade, Judith Salvio Kapinga, has commended Kilombero Sugar Company Limited for its continued investments in expanding Tanzania’s sugar production, saying the company’s efforts are supporting the government’s goal of achieving national sugar self-sufficiency and accelerating industrial development.

The Minister made the remarks during her visit to Kilombero Sugar’s exhibition pavilion at the official opening of the Nane Nane Eastern Zone Exhibition in Morogoro.

During the tour, she received a briefing on the company’s strategic investments, including the newly operational state-of-the-art K4 factory, which has significantly increased Kilombero Sugar’s production capacity and strengthened domestic sugar supply.

The company’s Communication and Stakeholder Relations Manager, Victor Byemelwa, told the Minister that the investment reflects Kilombero Sugar’s commitment to supporting national development by increasing local sugar production, creating employment opportunities, and driving sustainable industrial growth.

Minister Kapinga was also introduced to Bwana Sukari, Kilombero Sugar’s consumer brand, which continues to supply high-quality sugar to households across Tanzania.

The briefing further highlighted the company’s focus on innovation, operational excellence, and delivering value to consumers, farmers, government and other stakeholders through continued strategic investments.
