Vodacom showcases digital solutions to President Samia at 50th DITF

DAR ES SALAAM: PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan and Mozambique’s President, Daniel Francisco Chapo, visited the Vodacom Tanzania pavilion during the official opening of the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), where they were introduced to the company’s digital innovations aimed at expanding access to technology and improving the lives of Tanzanians.
During the tour at the Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Grounds, the two Heads of State received a briefing from Vodacom Tanzania Chief Executive Officer, Philip Besiimire, on the company’s products and services that are supporting digital inclusion and accelerating Tanzania’s digital transformation.
The delegation was taken through Vodacom’s digital ecosystem, including affordable smartphones that enable more people to access the digital economy, reliable voice and internet connectivity, M-Pesa financial services and other technology-driven solutions designed to empower individuals, businesses and communities.
Mr Besiimire said Vodacom remains committed to investing in digital infrastructure and customer-focused innovations that create opportunities for all Tanzanians.
“At Vodacom, our purpose is to connect people to a better future. We continue to invest in digital infrastructure, innovative technologies and inclusive solutions that ensure every Tanzanian has access to the opportunities created by the digital economy. We are honoured to showcase these innovations to our leaders at this year’s DITF,” he said.
Vodacom Tanzania Consumer Business Unit Director, Brigita Shirima, said this year’s exhibition offers the company an opportunity to demonstrate how technology continues to transform the lives of Tanzanians through accessible and innovative digital services.
She said the company’s affordable smartphones, reliable connectivity, M-Pesa platform and other digital solutions are helping more people participate in the digital economy while improving financial inclusion and creating new economic opportunities.
In addition to showcasing its innovations, Vodacom Tanzania received the Third Overall Best Exhibitor Award and the Second Best Sponsor Award in recognition of its outstanding participation and continued support for the annual international trade fair.
The awards reflect Vodacom Tanzania’s commitment to driving digital transformation, expanding access to technology and supporting Tanzania’s socio-economic development through innovative products and services that empower millions of customers across the country.
