DAR ES SALAAM: THE Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ambassador Waziri Salum, has announced that preparations for the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (Sabasaba) are more than 99 percent complete, expressing satisfaction with the progress made ahead of the official opening of the exhibition.

Ambassador Salum made the statement on June 29, 2026, after inspecting various exhibition pavilions at the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair grounds in Dar es Salaam as part of preparations ahead of the scheduled visit by the Minister of Industry and Trade on July 1.

He said only a few remaining areas were still being finalized, while several exhibition stands had already started providing services and members of the public had begun arriving at the venue in large numbers.

“I am satisfied with the preparations. They are more than 99 percent complete, and the few remaining areas are being finalized. The preparations are progressing very well, and I commend the organizers for the great work they have done,” he said.

He also praised the quality of products produced by Tanzanian traders and entrepreneurs, particularly women entrepreneurs, saying their products have improved significantly and feature packaging that meets market competition standards.

He encouraged citizens to continue buying locally produced goods in order to support Tanzanian manufacturers and producers, while emphasizing that the government will continue creating a favorable environment to enable businesses and entrepreneurs to grow.

Furthermore, Ambassador Salum said the participation of more than 23 countries in the exhibition presents an important opportunity for Tanzanian businesses to promote their products, build business networks, and access new international markets.

He urged exhibitors to make full use of the exhibition platform by marketing their products, showcasing quality standards, and establishing business partnerships with entrepreneurs from different countries in order to expand their markets beyond Tanzania’s borders.
