Equity Bank, Sido enters into a strategic partnership to empower entrepreneurs

DAR ES SALAAM: EQUITY Bank Tanzania has joined hands with the Small Industries Development Organization (SIDO) in a bold strategic partnership designed to unlock the full potential of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across the country.

The partnership was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding signed during the national commemoration of International SME Day at NSSF Mafao House in Ilala, Dar es Salaam, a gathering that brought together key voices in Tanzania’s enterprise ecosystem, united by one shared mission, to elevate entrepreneurs from potential to performance.

More than 8,000 entrepreneurs are set to benefit from the said collaboration, gaining access to finance, tailored business development support, financial literacy training, mentorship, and market linkages designed to help businesses not just survive, but scale with confidence.

Speaking during the event, Ms. Theresia Aloyce Mayanie, Head of Retail at Equity Bank Tanzania, said MSMEs remain a central pillar in the Bank’s Africa Recovery and Resilience agenda, a commitment focused on unlocking opportunity, creating jobs, and strengthening livelihoods through inclusive financial solutions.

“At Equity Bank, we do not just see businesses, we see ambition, resilience, and possibility,” she said. “Every entrepreneur carries a dream. Our role is to stand beside them with the tools, knowledge, and financial support that turn those dreams into reality.”

She added that the partnership with SIDO reflects a deeper promise to walk with entrepreneurs not only at the point of access to finance, but throughout their entire journey of growth, expansion, and sustainability.

For Equity Bank Tanzania, this is more than a partnership. It is a commitment to momentum, where ideas are funded, businesses are nurtured, and entrepreneurship is given room to thrive at scale across Tanzania.
