TMIC 2026 to boost mining investment in Tanzania

DAR ES SALAAM: PREPARATIONS are underway for the Tanzania Mining Investment Conference (TMIC 2026), a major event expected to attract global investors and strengthen the mining sector’s contribution to Tanzania’s economic growth.

Speaking today on the preparations, the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Energy and Minerals, Subira Mgalu, said.

“The mining sector remains a key pillar of Tanzania’s economy and there is a need for continued improvements in policies, legal frameworks, and operational systems to enhance performance and increase benefits to citizens,” she said.

She added that Parliament will continue to oversee the implementation of mining laws to ensure transparency and investor confidence.

Mgalu said TMIC 2026 will serve as an important platform for dialogue among stakeholders in the sector.

“TMIC 2026 will bring together government leaders, investors, miners, researchers, academics, and other industry stakeholders to share experiences, explore new technologies, and propose policy improvements aimed at advancing the sector,” she observed.

The conference is scheduled to take place in Dar es Salaam from November 19 to 21, 2026, and is expected to be officially opened by President Samia Suluhu Hassan and closed by the President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Hussein Ali Mwinyi.

More than 100 speakers and participants from over 50 countries are expected to attend the event, which will focus on investment opportunities, innovation, and sustainable development in Tanzania’s mining industry.
