Health Ministry enhances laboratory information access systems for accurate diagnostic and treatment of diseases

MOROGORO: THE MINISTRY of Health, in collaboration with CIHEB Tanzania through the Global Health Security project, continues to strengthen health services in the country by improving laboratory information access systems, as well as collaborating with stakeholders in discussing and resolving existing challenges in the regions.
This was stated by the Head of Laboratory Services, Head of Laboratory Services of the Ministry of Health, Reuben Mkala, during a working session to discuss and improve access to laboratory information held in Morogoro region.
Mkala said that access to accurate and timely information is an important pillar in improving diagnostic services, as such information helps health professionals make the right decisions in the provision of treatment and disease control.”

“The Ministry of Health will continue to collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure that laboratory information systems continue to be strengthened to increase efficiency, quality, and access to health services for the citizens,” said Mkala.
For his part, the project director from CIHEB Tanzania, Dr Edgar Lusaya, said the organization will continue to collaborate with the Government in strengthening health systems in the country, especially in the laboratory area and access to information that supports the implementation of various health programs.
He said they will continue to provide professional and technical cooperation in the government’s efforts to improve laboratory services and ensure that the information generated is used appropriately to improve the health of the citizens.
