Tanzania invites Russian firms to invest in BSEZ project, it is open for global investors

ST PETERSBURG: PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has declared Tanzania ready to become one of Africa’s leading investment destinations, inviting international firms to participate in the country’s major strategic development projects.
Addressing the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2026) in Russia on June 5, 2026, the President highlighted opportunities in port development, special economic zones and manufacturing industries as key areas requiring investment partnerships to drive economic growth and job creation.
Dr Samia singled out the Bagamoyo Special Economic Zone (BSEZ) as a flagship project that offers significant opportunities for global investors.

“The Bagamoyo Special Economic Zone is our number one project, and we welcome international companies to partner with us in its development,” she said.
The forum, attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin and other global leaders, provided Tanzania with a platform to showcase its economic ambitions and investment potential.
The President said the government remains committed to creating a conducive business environment through improved infrastructure, policy reforms and strategic investments aimed at attracting both local and foreign capital.
Her remarks underscore Tanzania’s growing reputation as an investor-friendly destination and a rising economic powerhouse in Africa.
