Zaipuna puts NMB transformation story on global stage at Cambridge

Cambrigde, UK: NMB Bank Plc Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Ruth Zaipuna, has taken Tanzania’s banking transformation story to the global stage after delivering a keynote address at the Cambridge Africa Business Conference 2026, held at Cambridge Judge Business School in the United Kingdom.
Speaking before African leaders, investors and innovators, Zaipuna highlighted the critical role of organisational transformation in mobilising capital, driving economic growth and fostering innovation, with NMB Bank Plc presented as a leading African case study.

“Africa’s future will not be delivered to us; it will be built by us through inclusive systems, trusted institutions, and the discipline to deliver lasting impact for generations to come,” she said.
Earlier during a visit to Tanzania’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Mbelwa Kairuki, said NMB’s success reflects the strength of Tanzania’s financial sector and the growing global competitiveness of Tanzanian enterprises.

The conference brought together senior representatives from British International Investment, the African Development Bank, BlackRock, Africa Risk Consulting and NMB Bank Plc for strategic discussions on investment, partnerships and sustainable economic development across Africa.
