Tanzania, WaterAid UK agree to deepen partnership in sustainable water, sanitation, and hygiene services

BRAZZAVILLE: TANZANIA and WaterAid UK have pledged to continue strengthening strategic partnerships to develop sustainable water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services.

This was stated when the Minister of Finance, Ambassador Khamis Mussa Omar led the Tanzanian delegation in a meeting with the WaterAid UK Delegation, led by its Managing Director for Southern Africa, Robert Kampala, at a meeting held on the sidelines of the 61st General Assembly of the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the 52nd General Assembly of the Bank’s Development Fund (ADF), currently underway in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo.

The partnership aims to strengthen institutional frameworks, implement projects, and scale up climate-resilient investments to accelerate the development of the sector.

The meeting was also attended by the Permanent Secretary and Chief Paymaster General, Dr Natu El-Maamry Mwamba, who is also the Alternate Governor of the African Development Bank (AfDB), the Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary who is also the Commissioner for the Department of External Finance, Ministry of Finance, Rished Bade, Assistant Commissioner for the Department of External Finance, Ministry of Finance, and Robert Mtengule, while on the part of WaterAid UK, the Director of Pan Africa Advocacy, Dr Tanko Yussif Azzika and other officials of the Ministry of Finance were present.
