Simba admit playing tough game in Kagera

SIMBA’S interim coach Juma Mgunda has admitted the encounter with Kagera Sugar at Kaitaba Stadium has been always tough, but he is relieved to secure a point at the tricky arena

Mgunda made the remarks on Wednesday following their 1-1 draw with Kagera Sugar at Kaitaba Stadium in Kagera. Following the victory, Simba remains second with 38 points behind their rivals, Young Africans, with 44 points.

During the press briefing, Mgunda commended his players for their fighting spirit as their hosts took the lead in the 15th minute through Deus Bukenya, who completed Ally Ramadhan set piece with a perfect header.

Simba levelled the scoreboard through Henock Inonga, who connected Clatous Chama’sChama’s freekick with a fine header.

After commenting on the game, Mgunda said they are focused on the next game against the Kinondoni Municipal Council over this weekend.

He said he observed a few issues during the game against Kagera and they will work on them during the training, and the good ones will be improved so that they can do well in the next match.

“The Kagera Sugar game is over, we have struggled to find three points, but God has given us one; we are grateful, and we are returning to training ahead of the KMC game.

“We will have three days to prepare before playing our match against KMC; we will work on the shortcomings that have emerged to ensure that we win,” said Mgunda.

Simba’s next opponent Kinondoni Municipal Council (KMC), welcomed Polisi Tanzania and sealed a 2-0 victory at Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam yesterday.

KMC netted their goals through Awesu Ally in the sixth minute before his teammate George Makang’a doubled the lead in the 55th minute.

At Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya, Mbeya City hosted Singida Big Stars. A tight encounter that ended in a 1-1 draw saw the guests Singida taking the lead in the 53rd minute through Azizi Andabwile before the hosts Mbeya equalised seven minutes later.

Meanwhile, ALEXANDER SANGA reports that Azam FC caretaker coach Kally Ongala has said he is not happy with their Wednesday 1-1 draw against Geita gold FC at Nyankumbu stadium.

Speaking after the match, Ongala said his team played very well but failed to exploit the chances they created.

Ongala also complained of the pitch, highlight as among the factors to play well.
