Petra Bay Maysara launches in Masaki, setting a new Benchmark for luxury living and exceptional craftsmanship in DSM

DAR ES SALAAM: Petra Protek Construction has officially launched Petra Bay Maysara, a luxury residential development in Masaki, positioning the project as a new benchmark for premium urban living and craftsmanship in Dar es Salaam.
The boutique development, located at Plot 1133 at the junction of Haile Selassie Road and Msasani Road, is being exclusively marketed by Zara Real Estate and will feature 80 high-end residences, including smart apartments and penthouses designed to meet the growing demand for upscale living in the city.
Speaking during the official unveiling at The Peninsula Club in Masaki, architect Edibe Bikem Kilincaslan of Petra Protek Construction said the project combines internationally inspired architecture with privacy, comfort and premium finishes tailored to Dar es Salaam’s coastal environment.
“The project comprises four five-storey residential buildings, each with exclusive penthouse residences, private lobbies and a maximum of four apartments per floor,” she said.

According to Kilincaslan, the development will include a mix of two-bedroom, three-bedroom and four-bedroom apartments ranging from approximately 177 square metres to more than 281 square metres, while selected penthouses will feature private terraces of up to 68 square metres.
She noted that the architectural vision behind Petra Bay Maysara focuses on natural light, spacious interiors and quality materials rather than excessive luxury.
“With Petra Bay Maysara, we wanted to create a form of luxury that feels calm, lasting and deeply liveable. The architecture is not about excess; it is about proportion, light, privacy and the quiet confidence of well-chosen materials,” she said.
The development will also integrate smart-home technology, enabling residents to control lighting, climate and security systems remotely. Additional features include smart access control, video intercom systems and 24-hour CCTV surveillance.

Residents will have access to a range of lifestyle amenities, including a 20-metre swimming pool with a children’s shallow section, landscaped relaxation areas, a fully equipped 139-square-metre gymnasium and a dedicated padel court — one of the few such facilities within a residential development in Dar es Salaam.
Ground-floor commercial spaces are also planned to serve both residents and the wider Masaki community while maintaining the project’s upscale character.
Speaking at the launch, Zara Real Estate Chief Executive Officer Hellen Kiwia said the luxury property market in Masaki is evolving beyond location alone, with buyers increasingly seeking convenience, privacy and modern living standards.
“Masaki is a market that understands location, but today’s buyer is asking for more than an address. They want privacy, security, space, quality finishes and a home that makes daily life easier,” she said.
Construction of Petra Bay Maysara has already commenced, with completion expected within 24 months and handover scheduled for the second quarter of 2028.
The project is currently open for off-plan sales, offering early buyers access to a limited number of residences and penthouses at pre-completion prices.

Petra Protek Construction, headquartered in Istanbul, Turkey and registered in Tanzania, said Petra Bay Maysara marks its flagship residential development in Dar es Salaam as it expands into East Africa’s growing luxury housing market.
Zara Real Estate, a Tanzanian boutique real estate company specializing in premium residential property, will oversee all sales and marketing activities for the development.
