Government backs Private Sector to drive Vision 2050 goals

DAR ES SALAAM:DEPUTY Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Aristides Mbwasi, has said that the Tanzania Development Vision 2050 depends by 70 percent on the private sector, including traders and investors, and that the Government will continue supporting them in order to achieve the goals of the vision.
He made the remarks today in Dar es Salaam during the Competition and Investment Laws Conference in Tanzania, where he noted that the Government will continue creating a conducive business environment to promote trade and investment for the benefit of all stakeholders.

Mbwasi also said the conference is important for exchanging ideas and providing guidance on how to ensure that the business environment upholds fair competition.

Meanwhile, Acting Director General of the Fair Competition Commission (FCC), Khadija Ngasongwa, said the conference will help stimulate economic growth and create a more enabling and investor-friendly environment for both local and foreign investment, noting that the competition sector plays a key role in improving consumer welfare.

On his part, Managing Partner and lawyer at Mwebesa Law Group, Cris Mwebesa, said the conference has brought together participants from different countries, emphasizing that competition issues are cross-cutting and will help strengthen both consumer protection and legal frameworks.
