Nollywood actor, Alex Ekubo dies after battling kidney cancer

NIGERIA: Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo has been reported dead in some Nigerian media outlets following claims that he had been battling kidney cancer.

According to Nigeria’s Daily Post Nigeria, the actor was rushed to hospital on Monday and later placed on life support before allegedly passing away on Tuesday afternoon.

The report further claims that Ekubo had been suffering from serious kidney-related complications, with sources linking his condition to kidney cancer. However, official confirmation from family representatives or medical authorities had not been independently verified at the time of publication.

Concerns about the actor’s health had reportedly grown in recent months after he became inactive on social media. A check cited by the Nigerian publication indicated that his last known post was on December 30, 2024, fueling further speculation among fans.
