Dr Samia elevates three institutional officials with minor changes in the diplomatic area

DODOMA: PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has appointed three officials to various institutions and made a minor reshuffle in the diplomatic area.

A statement issued today, April 24, 2026, by the Director of Presidential Communication stated that the Head of State named Engineer Peter Mwasalyanda as the new Director General of the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA), taking over from Dr Jabiri Bakari, whose tenure has ended.

Before the appointment, Eng Mwasalyanda served as Chief Executive Officer of the Universal Communications Service Access Fund (UCSAF).

Dr Bakari has, in turn, been appointed as the Director General of the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA), replacing Salim Ramadhani Msangi, who has been assigned other duties.

Additionally, the President appointed Angela Kizigha as a Presidential Advisor on Social Affairs, bolstering the executive advisory team at the State House.

Meanwhile, President Samia has transferred Ambassador Mabhare Matinyi from Sweden to Algeria as Tanzanian envoy.
