TRA orders business owners to submit income tax returns before June 30

DAR ES SALAAM: BUSINESS owners in Dar es Salaam who prepare their own financial records through self-assessment have been urged to submit their income tax returns before June 30 to stay compliant and avoid penalties.

Tax law provide a fair framework, giving these business owners a six-month window to organize their assessments.

This announcement was made in Dar es Salaam by Taxpayer Education Manager Paul Walalaze.

He stressed meeting the deadline is both a legal obligation and a key step in promoting transparency and accountability in the business sector.

He explained this period is intended to ease pressure and allow proper review of income, expenses, and overall performance.

He encouraged business owners to plan ahead and avoid last-minute rushes by preparing their documents early.

As the deadline nears, the authority emphasizes that timely tax compliance not only protects individual businesses but also supports national economic growth.
