Equity Bank opens financial services at EACLC for the logistics sector

DAR ES SALAAM: EQUITY Bank has officially launched a new branch in Ubungo, Dar es Salaam, located within the East African Commercial and Logistics Center (EACLC), as part of its strategy to connect traders from different countries and expand access to financial services.
Speaking during the launch event, the bank’s Chief Executive Officer, Isabela Maganga, said the initiative aims to support business growth, improve livelihoods for Tanzanians, and stimulate development in the commercial sector by enabling entrepreneurs of all sizes to scale their capital and access international markets.
“This Ubungo branch is specifically designed to serve as a hub where business people can meet and engage in commercial discussions, given its strategic location within a major trade center,” said Maganga.

She added that the branch will provide a full range of services, including deposits and withdrawals, international banking services, trade financing, and customer support.
Meanwhile, the bank’s Head of Operations, Rogers Mdoe, noted that Equity is a regional bank operating in more than six countries, and that positioning the branch at a key commercial hub will facilitate business networking and cross-border trade engagement.
“We are also providing space for business people to hold discussions and build partnerships right here at the center,” Mdoe said.

On her part, the Head of Personal and Retail Banking, Teresia Mayani, emphasized that the bank continues to refine its services by listening to customer needs and bringing financial solutions closer to them for easier access.
The new branch is expected to accelerate commercial activities in the Ubungo area and strengthen trade relations between Tanzania and other countries
