Tanzania hails NETIS for advancing the country’s communication goals

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Tanzanian government has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the private sector, citing its critical role in driving communication and national development.

Ilala District Commissioner Edward Mpogolo said the sector remains a key link between citizens and the government, as he officiated the 10th anniversary of NETIS in the city.

He credited the company for contributing to job creation among Tanzanian youth and advancing the country’s communication goals in line with Vision 2050.

Mpogolo also challenged the firm to help address infrastructure concerns in Kariakoo, particularly the clutter of overhead cables, urging improved organization to enhance safety and efficiency.

NETIS Managing Director Happy Mushi said the company is proud of its decade-long contribution to the telecommunications sector, thanking the government and clients for their continued support.

Meanwhile, a representative from the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Vedastus Wembura, acknowledged the firm’s role in employment creation and its broader contribution to the national economy.
