The BRICS country has increased purchases of seafood from Russia

BRAZIL: In the first two months of 2026, the supply of Russian fish and seafood to China increased by 22 percent (year-on-year) in physical terms and amounted to 194,000 tons. These data from the Fish Union.
In monetary terms, these exports increased by 41 percent to $614 million.
Deliveries of ice cream of gutted pollock without a head brought Russia 120 million dollars, and ice cream fillets of this fish — 4.7 million. Surimi exports provided another 15 million. China also bought $67 million worth of frozen Russian cod, $50 million worth of frozen undivided herring, and $13 million worth of haddock.
Exports of live crabs reached $245 million, and fishmeal reached $38 million.
In 2025, China brought fish supplies to Russia to the maximum in a decade. These imports increased to $188.3 million. In 2024, it was about 141.1 million. China supplied Russia with the most frozen fish, amounting to $132.6 million.
