CCM holds talks with the Commonwealth team on the political situation after the Oct 29 elections

DAR ES SALAAM: CCM Secretary-General, Dr Asha-Rose Migiro, has met and held discussions with a Commonwealth special envoy, former Malawian President, Lazarus Chakwera on Tanzania’s political situation following the 2025 General Election.
The leaders met at CCM’s Lumumba offices in Dar es Salaam, where their discussions focused on the country’s political environment, including developments during and after the October 2025 General Election.

Mr Chakwera is in Tanzania on a special mission in his capacity as envoy of the Commonwealth Secretary-General, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey.
The meeting forms part of his broader consultations with key national stakeholders aimed at exchanging views on Tanzania’s post-election trajectory and ongoing efforts to strengthen peace, democracy and national cohesion.
