CHAUMMA’s Mwalimu expresses confidence in the Commission of Inquiry
DAR ES SALAAM: THE 2025 presidential candidate through CHAUMMA and the former CHADEMA Deputy Secretary General (Zanzibar), Salum Mwalimu, has expressed strong confidence in the Commission tasked with investigating incidents of unrest before, during, and after the 2025 General Election.
According to Mr Mwalimu, the commission represents all Tanzanians and carries a critical mandate to address the wounds left by the election-related disturbances.
“ This commission is for all Tanzanians and I have high hopes that it will heal the injuries that arose during that period,” he said.

Moreover, he stressed the importance of national reconciliation once the commission releases its findings, noting that unity will be key in restoring public trust and stability.
November last year, President Samia Suluhu Hassan established an Independent Commission of Inquiry to investigate the civil unrest that erupted during and following Tanzania’s General Election on October 29, 2025.
The commission is chaired by retired Chief Justice Mohamed Chande Othaman.
