TPDF announces new recruitment opportunities for Tanzanian youth

DODOMA: THE Tanzania People’s Defence Force (TPDF) has officially announced new recruitment opportunities for Tanzanian youth with education ranging from secondary school level to higher education, as part of efforts to strengthen national defence and enhance human resource capacity within the military.

The announcement, issued yesterday, April 14, 2026, states that selected candidates will undergo military training while also being given opportunities to develop their professional careers within the armed forces.

According to the stated requirements, applicants must be Tanzanian citizens by birth, in good physical and mental health, and of good conduct with no criminal record.

Age eligibility has also been specified, with candidates holding Form Four and Form Six education required not to exceed 25 years of age, while those with higher education must not be older than 28 years.

Applicants are further required to submit original documents, including birth certificates, academic certificates, and a national ID or NIDA number. Individuals who have previously served in security or defence institutions are not eligible to apply.

The force noted that all applications must be submitted physically at TPDF Headquarters in Dodoma from April 15 to April 28, 2026, as part of a national initiative to provide young people with opportunities to contribute to national defence and development.
