Govt to install 558 street lights along Ntyuka–Kikombo road
DODOMA: THE government has announced plans to install 558 street lights along the 76-kilometre Ntyuka–Mvumi– Kikombo road, currently under construction to tarmac standards in Chamwino District, Dodoma Region.
Speaking over the weekend during a public rally addressed by Prime Minister Dr Mwigulu Nchemba in Mvumi Constituency, Minister for Works Abdallah Ulega said the project aims to enhance infrastructure and improve safety for road users.
Mr Ulega said the installation of street lighting will expand economic activities in the area by enabling businesses and other operations to continue safely during night hours, thereby increasing opportunities for residents in Chamwino and Dodoma Region at large.
He noted that improved lighting will also significantly reduce road accidents and enhance security for motorists and communities living along the road.

The minister further assured that local youth will be given priority in employment opportunities arising from the project, in line with the government’s commitment to ensure communities benefit directly from development initiatives.
The road project is expected to ease transport and facilitate the movement of goods, particularly agricultural produce, to major markets in Dodoma, boosting economic growth in the area.
