Form IV graduates get second chance to choose subject combinations

DODOMA: THE government has opened a special window for 2025 Form Four graduates to revise their subject combinations for Form Five and course selections for middlelevel and technical colleges through the online Student Selection System.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government (PMO-RALG), Professor Riziki Shemdoe, announced the move in Dodoma over the weekend, describing it as a critical step in preparations for the 2026 student selection exercise.

Prof Shemdoe said the window will remain open until May 10 this year, urging students, parents and guardians to make wellinformed decisions after thorough consultation with teachers, academic advisers and professionals.

“This opportunity allows students to align their choices with their actual performance in the Form Four National Examination results released by the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA),” he said.

He explained that PMORALG has already completed uploading students’ selection data into the system, paving the way for adjustments.

“With the database now ready, graduates can access the system and update their preferred combinations or courses,” he noted.

Prof Shemdoe said the revised choices will form the basis for placement into Form Five streams and various technical and middlelevel institutions.

He outlined that students can access the Student Selection Management Information System (MIS) through the official portal, where detailed guidelines are provided, including user manuals and instructional videos.

To log in, students will be required to use their Form Four index number, surname, year of birth and verification details.

He emphasised the importance of adhering to the deadline to ensure a smooth and timely placement process.
