DODOMA: POLICE in Dodoma are holding three suspects in connection with the murder of a bodaboda rider, Omary Bakari (21), who was allegedly killed in a robbery incident.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday by Dodoma Regional Police Commander, ACP Gallus Hyera, the incident occurred on March 21, 2026 at around 9:30 pm at Chinyoya Street, Kilimani Ward in the city.

He said the deceased, a resident of Michese, was attacked and stabbed with a sharp object on the neck and back by assailants who intended to steal his motorcycle.

“Following the incident, police launched operation and patrols that led to the arrest of one suspect, Sadick Jonathan (23), at Manzase Village, Chamwino District, while in possession of the deceased’s motorcycle,” he stated.

ACP Hyera said upon interrogation, the suspect confessed the crime and implicated two accomplices including Paulo Abinel (26) and Ramadhani Hamidu (35), both residents of Dodoma who were later arrested while attempting to flee to neighbouring regions.
