Content Creators advised to use the Dr Samia Fund’s loans wisely

DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIAN Content creators have been urged to prudently use loans through funds issued by President Samia Suluhu Hassan to ensure they generate value in their work rather than being spent on non-essential consumption.

The advisory was delivered by digital monetization expert Baraka Mafole during a session with content creators on strategies for accessing international markets. He emphasized the importance of aligning the use of such funds with clear production goals and income growth trajectories, noting that disciplined capital allocation is critical in scaling digital content ventures.

Additionally, content creators were encouraged to establish structured production targets on a weekly to monthly basis, alongside developing both personal and team budgets. These budgets should incorporate key operational costs, including essential professional services such as legal support.

Contributing to the discussion, Ackim Mwandembwa cautioned loan beneficiaries against unnecessary expenditures, stressing that the primary objective of the financing is to enable creators to produce revenue-generating content and ultimately repay the loans.

“It is important to use the loan for its intended purpose. Avoid purchasing expensive equipment without a clear necessity, as this is a financial instrument designed to uplift you economically,” he emphasized.

Meanwhile, the session moderator, Warda Mansour, called on the government to increase investment in infrastructure for content creators. She highlighted the need for modern studio facilities that would enable individuals who cannot afford high-end equipment to access quality production environments and compete effectively in the digital content economy.
