Tanzania advised to upgrade the infrastructure at Mwananyamala Hospital

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Parliamentary Standing Committee on Health and AIDS Affairs has directed the government to prepare a strategic plan for infrastructure improvements at the Mwananyamala Regional Referral Hospital, including the construction of modern buildings and addressing the shortage of staff at the hospital.
The committee has also directed the government to increase the budget for providing education and conducting research on various health services and issues.
Speaking during a visit to the hospital located in Dar es Salaam, the Chairman, Dr Johannes Lukumay, commended the government for the investment and improvements in the provision of health services at the Hospital.

On her part, the Deputy Minister for Health, Dr Florence Samizi, said that the government continues to invest in the provision of health services with the aim of ensuring that they are available in every part of the country.
“For those who can not afford the service, the government has continued to provide amnesty and provide them with relief to access treatment.
She also assured the committee that the ministry has received the instructions and advice they provided during the visit and will act accordingly.
For his part, the Acting Medical Officer of the Mwananyamala Regional Referral Hospital, Dr Mercy Maya, thanked the Committee for the visit and advice they provided, while promising to continue to maintain high standards of health services.
