Tanzanians urged to invest in the EACLC to boost their country’s revenue

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Minister of State, President’s Office – Planning and Investment, Prof Kitila Mkumbo, has urged Tanzanians to come out in large numbers to invest in the East Africa Commercial and Logistic Center (EACLC) located in Dar es Salaam to boost the country’s economy.

Speaking during a dinner event involving religious leaders and more than 300 citizens organized by the Office of the Ubungo Constituency Member of Parliament, Prof Kitila said that so far the center is progressing well and many traders have taken up space and it has started to flourish.

“Let me take this opportunity to call on Tanzanian traders, there are still opportunities to set up shops here. I also call on Tanzanians to visit this area, which is in a very good location,” he stressed.

He thanked religious leaders in the district for their decision to publicly support him in the past elections.

He said the support and solidarity shown by religious leaders had a major contribution to his victory, while promising to continue to collaborate with them in bringing development to the people.

At the event, Prof. Kitila named EACLC Director General, Catherine Wang, as an important development partner and encouraged the people to speak well of the center so that they can benefit from the existing business opportunities.

Wang said EACLC is not just a building project but a professional platform that aims to strengthen good relations between the center and the surrounding community.

“Together we have agreed and appreciated the contribution of this center, which has continued to be an important pillar for the nation, especially for the people of Ubungo and neighboring districts that receive its services. This center has become a safe and stable place for traders to conduct their business activities in a peaceful environment.

She added, “We believe that by continuing to collaborate, this center will continue to grow and become a model of success in the business sector. Collaboration between leaders, traders, and the community at large will continue to strengthen the solidarity and development of this area as well as our nation.

And the Ubungo District Commissioner, Albert Msando, said they will continue to improve the business environment and ensure that everyone who comes here receives the services and cooperation they deserve.

And the Ubungo District Commissioner, Maulid Salim Kidebe, thanked Prof. Kitila for organizing the Iftar, saying that the MP has the reputation of caring for his citizens at all times and that religious leaders will continue to support him even in the future.
