Dr Samia hails the commission assessing land use in Ngorongoro for its dedicated work

DODOMA: President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan, has commended the chairpersons and members of the commission established to assess land use in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for their dedicated and patriotic work in completing their duties.

President Samia made the remarks today, March 12, 2026, at Chamwino State House in Dodoma while receiving reports from the commissions. She noted that the commission’s mandate was challenging due to the involvement of numerous stakeholders with differing perspectives.

“Despite these challenges, the chairpersons and members carried out their work diligently, with integrity and professionalism, enabling the collection of important information that will support sound decision-making for the benefit of the nation,” President Samia said.

After thoroughly reviewing the reports and viewing a video showing the actual conditions of the visited areas, President Samia highlighted the importance of protecting the ecological system connecting the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Pololeti Game Reserve, and Lake Natron. She added that this ecological system is unique and crucial for sustainable environmental conservation and the country’s natural resources.
