Kombo welcomes the Palestine Ambassador-Designate to Tanzania

DAR E SALAAM: THE Tanzanian government has affirmed to maintain close collaboration with the Palestinian Embassy throughout its newly appointed envoy, Salam Sharar, to ensure the effective implementation of shared objectives and to further deepen diplomatic ties between the two nations.
Today, March 4, 2026, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, has officially received copies of the Letters of Credence from the Ambassador-Designate of Palestine to Tanzania, Salam Sharar.
The presentation of the documents forms part of standard diplomatic protocol, authorizing the ambassador to formally assume his duties in the host country.

During the ceremony, Minister Kombo congratulated Ambassador Sharar on his appointment to represent Palestine in Tanzania, noting that the nomination reflects his country’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations. He emphasized that Tanzania continues to value its longstanding cooperation with Palestine in political and social spheres.
Minister Kombo further reaffirmed that his Ministry will maintain close collaboration with the Palestinian Embassy throughout Ambassador Sharar’s tenure to ensure the effective implementation of shared objectives and to further deepen diplomatic ties between the two nations.
